Lenox Hill Florist via Color me Happy

In honor of the Vancouver Winter Olympics, I am featuring a post from Maria Killam,a wonderful Vancouver color consultant.  Maria is a true expert on color theory and selection and she is generous to share her insight through her blog Color me Happy.  I especially like this post featuring white and the best way to use it.  Maria’s advice is sound and the images are beautiful.  It is particularly enjoyable to take  in the photos and advice on color during these grey days of February.  So, click on over and enjoy.

When it comes to business associates I love to work with FBN Construction is on the top of the list!  There is a reason they won four Gold Prism awards in 2009 – they’re great at what they do.  Bob Ernst and the entire team always go above and beyond when it comes to meeting my client’s expectations.  FBN takes ownership of the project from day one and establishes clear lines of communication to ensure that everything goes smoothly.   A design is only as good as its execution and I trust the crew at FBN to make my vision a reality.

Winter at Canyon Ranch

I have just returned from a weekend getaway at Canyon Ranch in Lenox, MA.  It is the perfect place to reset my body and mind with relaxation, healthy eating, yoga and meditation.  I especially enjoy the lectures that focus on living a healthy, thoughtful and purposeful life.  One of my favorite speakers is Jerry Posner, and I was lucky to hear him speak this weekend.  Jerry’s talk was “Practicing the Power of Gratitude”.  He spoke about how we need to reflect on our  lives and thoughtfully consider all the things and people we are grateful for.  At his suggestion, I have started a gratitude journal where I plan to write down five things that I am grateful for every day.   The greatest part about a visit to Canyon Ranch is the inspiration for positive changes back home.    The gratitude journal is definitely a concrete step towards positive change in my life.  Of course, I am always grateful for the amazing people design has brought into my life.
